  • What we love

Angela Osborne’s A Tribute to Grace label, named for the New Zealander’s grandma, is a winery to watch. She focuses exclusively on Grenache, and this exceptionally pale example is fascinating. Compelling aromatics of crispy bacon, red cherry, cinnamon, and temple incense. It features a distinctly white pepper edge from the 78% whole cluster, plus a long, herbal, smoky finish. Medium-bodied and silky on the palate. Highly distinctive; if you like it, you’ll love it.

About this Wine

The expression of Grenache that accompanies the altitude of the Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard continues to amaze. Sitting at 3,200 feet elevation, this arid, moonscape setting is home to sand, brush, exposed rocks... and grapes. It’s the perfect setting for Grenache. Summer days are blazing hot, but the evenings cool off dramatically so while the wine has 13.8% alcohol, it’s as fresh as the Prince of Bel-Air. This is very much a wine that fully embraces the boundless potential of California terroir.

Drink now through 2023.

Angela Osborne

Proprietor + Winemaker

Angela Osborne may be California's biggest champion of Grenache. What's more, she has redefined what the grape is capable of in Santa Barbara—lithe, ethereal, and aromatic rather than rich, robust and dark. This finesse has led to many accolades for Angela, most notably as one of the 2015 San Francisco Chronicle's "Winemakers to Watch."

Angela Osborne moved to California in 2006, with the dream of making Grenache. Originally from New Zealand, where the climate is believed too cool for the varietal, she chose the abundant sunshine of Santa Barbara County to make her graceful wines. Named after her Grandmother, A Tribute to Grace Wine Company was founded in 2007 and is based in Los Alamos, CA.
