The “Vespidae” is Pinot producer J.K. Carriere’s flagship wine. A gorgeous garnet color, with even prettier aromas of roses, ripe cherry, caramel, and cedar. After a few minutes, coffee/toffee notes appear. In the mouth, flavors of bright red fruits – cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate. The acidity sings vibrantly, yet just a brush of tannin lays it balanced on the palate.

JK Carriere is a winery in the Willamette Valley that is inspired by the old guard of Burgundy. In Willamette Valley, you have a nearly identical soil and weather to Burgundy, the homeland of Pinot Noir. This bottling has been aged at the winery, allowing it to develop earthy and nuanced flavors.
