2016 Pinot Noir
Brooks Estate Vineyard, Eola-Amity Hills AVA, OR
What we love
Made from Pinot Noir grapes that are farmed organically and whose vines were planted in 1973 in volcanic basalt soil. The 2016 “Rastaban” Pinot Noir displays layers and layers of complexity. The spice comes through first thing in the mouth; cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom followed by wild cherry, rhubarb, orange peel, and strawberry, with subtle vanilla and sweet tobacco accents. A smoky overtone builds with air, leaving a lingering note of earth, cranberry and dried spices on the long finish. Velvety tannins with lively acidity combine to create a deliciously long finish.
About this Wine
Just 300 cases of this incredibly layered and delicious Pinot Noir were made. This is such a wonderful wine, with freshness, vibrancy and structure all in one mouthful. This beauty of a Pinot Noir will get even better with time, so it would be wise to get two bottles – one to try now and one to cellar. Enjoy!!
