2016 Dolcetto

Windsor Oaks Vineyard, Chalk Hill AVA, Russian River Valley, CA

  • What we love

Windsor Oaks Vineyard’s tiny planting of Dolcetto, just two rows of vines, produces only 70 cases annually. Upon first sip, the 2016 Dolcetto will transport you to the Italian countryside, showcasing notes of savory dried herbs, dried cranberries, and tangy ripe cherries. Tannins are present but not overwhelmingly grippy, making for a wine that’s silky and easy-drinking. Pair with anything an Italian farmer might consume after a long day in the field, like pasta, pizza or chicken. But truly, whatever you’re eating (or not eating), this Dolcetto is an excellent choice.
