One of my favorite discoveries of the year, this Grenache is undeniably, uniquely Californian—and utterly delicious. Pomegranate, black raspberry, baking spices, crushed gravel, and thyme. Only 76 cases of this beauty were produced.

About this Wine

From a biodynamic, dry farmed (no irrigation) vineyard planted on a rock-strewn hillside in Eastern Alexander Valley. This dramatic vineyard has an undeniable influence on the Altas Piedras Grenache – fine grained tannins, a lingering note of minerality, and a depth to the wine that the variety rarely sees in California. More telling, however, is how much restraint the wine demonstrates, which is perhaps best illustrated by the contrast between the subtly herbaceous aromatics and the mid-palate’s distinct purity of fruit. Enjoy!!
