  • What we love

‘Simple is best’ is the mentality at Leaf and Vine. Fermentations occur naturally with wild yeasts and zero additives are used during the vinification process. The 2016 Vista Luna is a bold Zinfandel, showing flavors of sappy black cherries, dark blue fruit, sweet spice, and smoke. Firm tannins and cracked pepper undertones lead to a lasting finish. Perfect with burgers, BBQ, or vegetarian chili. Only 66 cases made!

About this Wine

If you’ve ever visited the Leaf and Vine tasting room in Napa, winemaker Tim Keith poured your wine. He also operated the tractor in the vineyards at harvest, drove the truck of grapes to the winery, crushed them himself and handled every other minute aspect of the winemaking process. The only thing Tim didn’t do was filter or manipulate the wine in any way, so all you taste are the pure flavors he captured in the grapes. You won’t taste Tim’s sweat and tears, but both flowed freely.

Planted on the volcanic cobbles of the Borden Ranch AVA in Lodi, Vista Luna Vineyard boasts some of the oldest soils in California (around 500,000 years). Sustainable farming practices and organic farming give way to healthy, hand-harvested fruit.

  • Technical Data
  • 100% Zinfandel
  • Alcohol: 14.7% | pH: 3.50

Tim Keith

Owner + Winemaker

Leaf and Vine is a Father and Son led winery specializing in single vineyard, single varietal wines. All of the wines they produce are made with indigenous yeast, and bottled unfiltered and unfined.

Tim Keith is a young, forward-thinking winemaker who makes interesting, and very good, bottles of juice. He’s also one of those guys you want to grab beers with – engaging, generous, humble – and who will send you up a ladder to the top of the fermentation tanks to “get a good whiff.”

His delicious collection of thoughtful wines are as delightful as their maker.
