    PRIE’s 2016 Barbera is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. Tart and juicy and explosively fragrant, like smelling a fresh bouquet of flowers, PRIE’s Barbera is just so very drinkable. There are even some savory notes that come through as thyme and sage, but what will strike you the most is just how good and Italian-in-style this Barbera from California is. Just 65 cases made.

About this Wine

While still a fairly new kid on the block, PRIE exhibits a deft touch with every grape; in this case, Barbera sourced just down the road from their tiny winery in Lodi, California. With this wine, winemaker John Gash explores the feminine side of Barbera, crafting a wine that’s fragrant and light, with notes tangy black cherry, pomegranate and red licorice. Low tannins and natural high acidity make Barbera super versatile at the table. Cheers!

If you’re not yet familiar with PRIE, most likely it’s because this is a relatively new, artisanal style winery; established in Lodi in 2015. Owners John and Lisa Gash were lured to Lodi by the opportunity to purchase an 8.5-acre vineyard, where they built a working winery and sleek, cozy tasting room.
