2018 Grenache/Gamay Rosé
Arroyo Seco AVA, Santa Lucia Highlands, Monterey County, CA
Joyce Wine Co.
What we love
One of Monterey’s rising stars, Russell Joyce crafted his pretty and delicately pale rosé with a zesty mix of Gamay and Grenache. Fruit for this thirst-quenching rosé comes from the Cedar Lane and Sun Star vineyards in Monterey. Fermentation begins naturally and vinification/aging are done in stainless steel to preserve its fresh fruit flavors. The 2018 Joyce rosé is fruit-forward and satisfying, showing notes of tart red fruit, citrus, and salty sea air.
About this Wine
2018 was an excellent vintage for Monterey, producing terroir-reflective and ‘sun-kissed’ bottles. Crafted this year from 63% Grenache and 37% Gamay – the Grenache gives this wine finesse and a fruity presence in the glass while the Gamay adds pop. Just 800 cases made.
This stylish Grenache-based rosé will most definitely enjoy its time with your local cuisine, the beach, and your friends. Cheers!
