  • What we love

Ryme Cellars is one of the most exciting producers in California focusing on Italian varietals. The 2018 Aglianico Rosé is a dry, refreshing glass of summer wine, showing notes of tiny red strawberries and fresh grapefruit. Heringer Vineyard has been meticulously managed and farmed sustainably by the same family for three generations. Serve well chilled and pair with all things grilled.

About this Wine

With its striking acidity, powerful fruit and firm tannins, Aglianico can make a beautiful, aromatic yet serious rosé in the right site. Heringer Vineyard is located in Clarksburg AVA. With the rich alluvial soil, the modestly warm days, and the cool breezes winding through the nearby Sacramento Delta, the Aglianico struggles here to accumulate much sugar. Rather than dark and brooding, the fruit retains more delicacy and brightness.

90 points, Vinous (Antonio Galloni)

Megan and Ryan Glaab

Owners + Winemakers

Megan and Ryan Glaab’s Ryme Cellars (a blending of both their first names) is a micro-production winery focusing on small lot wines that reflect terroir and varietals, but with a twist and unique style that reflects a homage to the ancient ways while simultaneously expressing themselves.

Between this husband and wife winemaking team they have put time in at some of the best wineries in the state including Pax, Peay and Windgap, as well as legendary places including Marcassin and Sine Qua Non, plus a stint at Australia’s Torbreck.

Ryme has an esoteric portfolio dominated by Italian varieties that are not widely grown in California. These young, creative winemakers are a great source of discovery for unique wines.
