Crafted with a handful of select barrels that were destined for Hourglass’s triple-digit-priced estate red wines, HG III has everything we expect from a Napa Valley red – a lush fruit profile, profound depth, and serious structure. Merlot offers sleek, approachable texture and bright red fruit components, Petite Sirah provides the anchoring bass notes of dark blue and black fruit, and Cabernet weaves these together with structural framing and elegant refinement.
About this Wine
Dense and concentrated, yet balanced by lively acidity, a refined structure and well-integrated tannins, HG III delivers an eminently drinkable wine at cork-pull.
Winemaker Tony Biagi, who was named Antonio Galloni's winemaker of the year in 2020, and whose resume includes Plumpjack, Cade, Odette, Amici, Patria, and Clos du Val is the winemaker behind this project. Robert Parker, a big fan of Biagi, calls his efforts at Hourglass “virtually perfect.”
