  • What we love

Sometimes you need an interesting wine of such purity, personality and historic roots to come along and throttle your senses into a state of elation. Such is the case with this terrific red wine. Drop all preconceived notions you may have about how this blend should taste and just trust us on this one. The intersection of thriving wild berry fruit, wild mountain herbs, and savory, floral complexity makes this one of the most profoundly interesting wines we’ve tried all year and we’re hopeful it is something which will exceed all expectations.

About this Wine

Inspired by mesmerizing obscure blends of the Loire Valley, but nurtured in the Oregon terroir, winemaker Leah Jørgensen lovingly calls this riveting red blend, “Tour Rain,” a play-on-words in honor of the celebrated Touraine appellation in France’s Loire Valley, near Paris. This “Loire-gon” wine is sustainably farmed, L.I.V.E. certified and is crafted with minimal intervention, delivering a wine that is full of life and the energy of its ancient soils.

  1. Somm fact: Somm tip: For a wine that makes sense in every situation, look no further; Gamay blends are the definition of versatile. They are refreshing, super smooth, and so much fun to drink. Serve slightly chilled and let it open in your glass (or decant for 30 minutes).

60% Cabernet Franc; 40% Gamay Noir

Leah Jørgensen

Owner + Winemaker

Leah Jørgensen describes her wines as “under the radar,” but we're not sure how long that will last considering her winery was named “The Winery to Watch” in 2014 by Wine Press Northwest and she was listed as a “Winemaker to Watch” in 2015 by the San Francisco Chronicle.

In addition to producing boutique wines in the style of the Loire Valley, she keeps balance in her life by coaching high school lacrosse, serving wine at Corkscrew Wine Bar in Sellwood, and recently, she became a mom.

After talking with Leah and tasting her wines, we totally understand the buzz linked to her brand. Her wines are geeky enough to appeal to sommeliers, but so grounded and food friendly that they can please all wine fans. To boot, her prices make these bottles a bargain.
