2016 Dry Riesling
Finger Lakes, NY
Ravines Wine Cellars
What we love
New York’s Finger Lakes region has become regarded as one of the most noteworthy sites for killer Riesling. At Ravines Wine Cellars, grapes are farmed sustainably, harvested by hand, and crafted by one of the most high-profile producers in the region. The 2016 Estate Dry Riesling is made from whole-cluster pressed fruit fermented in steel. The wine is dry and thirst-quenching, showing notes of green apple, pear, and citrus, followed by a lingering mineral finish and a vibrant acidity. This wine is extremely versatile on the table.
About this Wine
NY Times wine critic Eric Asimov has raved, “... New York Rieslings don’t come any better than those from Ravines.”
Wondering what to serve? Delicate seafood preparations are excellent, particularly freshwater fish. Dry Riesling goes very well with Asian dishes, vegetable dishes and salads, as will chicken, particularly if you use some of the Riesling for a sauce. Cheers!
